ADVEO, the leading wholesale distributor in France and Belgium of office supplies, services and solutions, is once again relying on its long-standing partner, SAVOYE, to optimize its order picking.
With a network comprising several distribution structures (Plein Ciel, Calipage and Bureau Plus), ADVEO stands out as the specialist in the distribution of office supplies in France, through two offers, one marketing and the other logistics. Historically oriented towards a BtoB strategy, the company is now opening up to BtoC customers and is widening its offers. To support its customers, become more flexible and improve the compliance rate of its picking, ADVEO launched a call for tenders to modernize its facilities, a SAVOYE picking line, installed 20 years ago
Extending collaboration through logistics optimization
Favoring a long-term partnership and reassured by years of support and by the business knowledge of the company, ADVEO is once again choosing SAVOYE as its intralogistics partner to modernize its facilities. Through the different iterations and co-design work with SAVOYE, it was finally decided to implement a brand new order picking solution for cases and items, fully adapted to ADVEO’s needs, and comprising Goods-To-Person X-PTS® technologies, INTELIS® conveying order picking system equipped with storage units manufactured by PRODEX, a subsidiary of SAVOYE, as well as JIVARO® packaging machines.
These facilities will be installed at ADVEO’s new logistics site at Dammartin-en-Goële. Covering an area of 258,333 square feet (24,000 m2), incorporating the latest environmental standards and low energy consumption, it replaces the current warehouse located at Compans with an area of 134,548 square feet (12,500 m2). On site, orders placed by customers up until 7pm the day before are picked to be delivered the next day throughout France before 1pm. A challenge requiring rapid order picking for an increasingly wide range of offers. Thus, the new site will enable the storage space of the company to grow, going from a capacity of 6,500 to 18,000 pallets. “We are increasing our product listings by over 50%. Thanks to the new Savoye solution, we also intend to increase our picking capacity by over 30%”, explained Romain Thenard, ADVEO’s Supply Chain Manager.

A modern, tailor-made co-design
More generally, ADVEO intends to make picking more reliable by achieving a defect rate of less than 0.1% and by promoting employee well-being by reducing risks linked to TMS, all while improving its efficiency thanks to a more productive logistics tool. “We have been supporting ADVEO for almost 25 years and are now collaborating again for this new project with a modern design and mixing different technologies. This seemed like the appropriate moment to co-develop this comprehensive and efficient solution”, concluded Christophe Drapier, a Key Accounts Sales Engineer at SAVOYE.
