Dijon, May 18, 2021 – With extensive professional expertise in the automotive sector, SAVOYE supports the Midi Auto group in the logistics management of its spare parts distribution platform, MA PIECES AUTOS LIMOGES located in Feytiat, on the outskirts of Limoges and close to the A20 freeway.
The Midi Auto group, thanks to a large network of Citroën and Peugeot dealerships and two distribution platforms in France, stands out as one of the key players in the automotive sector. In order to optimally serve its network, mainly in Brittany, Normandy and Center and driven by a policy of constant improvement of all its services, Midi Auto wished to acquire a new robust logistics tool to distribute its more than 1,500 delivery points. For this, the group chose the expertise of the designer and integrator of logistics solutions SAVOYE and its Logys WMS.
Relying on a logistics core model dedicated to the automotive industry
A long-standing partner of Reynolds & Reynolds, publisher of the DCSnet Platform business solution, SAVOYE will be responsible for interfacing its WMS with Groupe Midi Auto’s systems to meet one of its major objectives: to keep the immobilization of vehicles under repair as low as possible. The SAVOYE WMS will ensure a management of the transport routes thought out according to the departure times of the vehicles with also the implementation of an optimized crossdock process ensuring a first departure as early as possible in the day (1st round at 4:45 am) for a delivery of qualified spare parts to customers (dealerships, RA, repairers, body workers, etc.).
This core model, already tried and tested on a dozen logistics platforms in France, will be implemented this year on Groupe Midi Auto’s Limoges platform. Covering an area of 5,500m², it has 35,000 picking locations and provides a volume of more than 250,000 packages.
“Optimizing our storage method will allow us to react to the service rate and provide an improvement in warehouse productivity, allowing us to increase the quality of our customer service for our various deliveries and to develop our turnover. ” Concludes Lionel Marsaud, Director of Midi Auto Limoges Auto Part.
