SAVOYE prescribes agile, scalable logistics for Welcoop Logistique

For over 20 years, SAVOYE has partnered Welcoop Logistique, a subsidiary of Coopérative Welcoop, a pharmacy cooperative, in the management of its warehouse. To keep in step with its development, the company, one of France’s longest-serving pharmaceutical retailers, chose ODATiO end-to-end modular solution.

Located in a 12,000 m2 warehouse in Gondreville near Nancy, Welcoop Logistique, a pharmaceutical wholesaler and subsidiary of the Welcoop cooperative, provides regional and national distribution of medicines and healthcare products to its pharmaceutical customers, the medical and paramedical professions, and homecare and ambulatory care patients. On a daily basis, under the responsibility of two pharmacists, Welcoop Logistique’s teams process 4,500 to 5,000 parcels, handle 200,000 order lines per month and work in compliance with Good Wholesale Distribution Practices (G.D.P.) within the regulatory framework of ISO 9001 / 2015.

ODATiO, for more agile and scalable logistics operations

Welcoop Logistique has for many years been equipped with a WMS developed by the supply chain software publisher SAVOYE, and has decided to renew its confidence in its partner by opting for the comprehensive, modular ODATiO solution: “Our business is not straight-lined, and reflects the constraints of pharmacists themselves. Depending on the weather, the seasons and the pathologies, our business can double overnight. So, to cope with the obsolescence of our historic LM7 WMS and ensure maximum productivity, we decided to continue working with SAVOYE on its ODATiO solution. It seemed to us to be the most flexible and best adapted to our needs”, explains Fabrice Trimbur, Managing Director of Welcoop Logistique.

Planned to be operational by the end of 2024, the ODATiO solution will enable Welcoop Logistique to increase its functional coverage and adopt a new, much more configurable technology, requiring fewer specific features. In addition to warehouse management, the company will also have access to a transport module enabling the allocation and grouping of its orders. “Thanks to ODATiO’s customization features, our customer will now be able to rely on more agile and scalable logistics. This is a decisive factor for the company, whose prospects for growth are substantial”, says Michel Ramos, Sales Engineer at SAVOYE.

Shaping the future in partnership

Manually handled, Welcoop Logistique’s 12,000 m2 warehouse could soon reach saturation point as the various subsidiaries of the Welcoop cooperative continue to grow. In order to ensure optimum service for these subsidiaries, the pharmaceutical wholesaler is currently considering the use of mechanized and/or automated tools: “Our ambition is to put the company on track with a sustainable solution for the next 10 years. Working with a partner such as SAVOYE enables us to envisage various technical solutions for order fulfillment. The trust we place in our partner means we can peacefully approach change management with our teams,” concludes Fabrice Trimbur.
